Pro Tip
- When batch-cutting steel to length, clamp a stop block to your work support at the required dimension. Slide each piece up to the stop, clamp and cut – this gives repeatable lengths, reduces measuring time and keeps offcuts consistent for later use.

Safety
- Wear eye, ear, hand and respiratory protection when cutting steel – sparks and metal dust are hazardous.
- Always use the safety guard and position it between yourself and the cutting disc.
- Check that the cutting disc is rated for 230mm and at least 6600rpm, and that it is correctly mounted before use.
- Secure the workpiece firmly and support offcuts so they cannot pinch the disc or fall unexpectedly.
- Let the disc reach full speed before entering the cut and avoid twisting or side-loading the wheel in the kerf.
- Disconnect the grinder from the power supply before changing discs, adjusting the guard or performing maintenance.
